Security zone in Terminal 1 cleared for operations again

The Federal Police cleared the security zone on the departures level in Terminal 1 for operations again at 13:30. The Federal Police found the person who had previously entered the security zone uncontrolled via the hand baggage exit in Terminal 1.

Flight operations in Terminal 1 are now getting back to normal again. There are, though, some delays in departures. Around 2,500 passengers were affected.

At around 12:15, the Federal Police had evacuated the security zone on the departures level in Terminal 1 at Cologne/Bonn Airport in accordance with the regulations. Previously, a person had apparently got into the security zone uncontrolled via the hand baggage exit in Terminal 1. Five aircraft had to remain on their parking positions. Until the security zone on the departures level had been cleared for operations again, there were no departures and no arrivals taking place in Terminal 1. Flight operations in Terminal 2 continued as normal.
